Jessica Simpson In Dukes Of Hazzard
In the film “Dukes Of Hazzard” Jessica Simpson performs the role of Daisy
Duke. The director of the film is Jay Chandrashekhar; it has been produced by
the Warner Bros. and has been scripted under the aegis of The Broken Lizard
comedy company comprising: Jay Chandrasekhar, Erik Stolhanske, Steve Lemme, Paul
Soter, and Kevin Heffernan.
“Dukes of Hazzard”, is located in a very contemporary background. The tale
revolves around the escapades of the characters named Bo (played by Sean William
Scott), Luke Duke (enacted by Johnny Knoxville), with their stunning cousin
Daisy (played by Jessica Simpson), and their bootleg operating Uncle Jesse
(portrayed by Willie Nelson) who take it upon themselves to save the family farm
from devastation by Hazzard County’s dishonest Chief, Boss Hogg (Burt Reynolds).
These characters also have to continually outwit the town’s Sheriff Roscoe P.
Coltrane (played by M.C.Gainey). The movie was premiered on the 5th August 2005.
Jessica Simpson made her first cinema appearance in “The Duke of Hazzard”.
She had always wanted to act in a movie; it seemed to be the perfect opportunity
to play the role of a seductive Southern beauty. She believes that her
television characters did not truly accentuate her strong acting potential. They
highlighted her as a scatterbrained person with a passion for dresses. Jessica
asserts that they were yet to see her as a dynamic woman and doing the character
of Daisy Duke would be the best way to demonstrate it.
Jessica deliberately took this minor part in the “Dukes of Hazzards” as she
wanted to avoid the tension of supporting a movie. She reiterates that as a
debut role, the character of Daisy was quite powerful. She is very sure that
given a chance she can also hold up a movie on her own.
